Funding and Donations

Fairhaven Garden Trust is an independent charity (No. 265686) dedicated to preserving and managing a stunning 136-acre ancient woodland estate with a private conservation broad. Our work is entirely funded through visitor admissions, memberships, donations, and grants.

Regular visitors will notice our ongoing efforts to enhance wildlife habitats through:

​

• Responsible woodland management, caring for trees and wildlife

• New planting schemes

• Installation of wildlife boxes and feeding stations

​​

Major projects, such as the restoration of the Boathouse, installation of bird hides and garden toilets, and restoration of the quay heading, are made possible through grant funding.

​

Looking ahead, we have several ambitious plans, including:

​

• Upgrading our accessible pleasure boats

• Restoring the island in the Broad

• Expanding education, outreach, and engagement initiatives

• Creating a wheelchair-accessible pathway to the quay for boat trips

• Renewing our fleet of mobility scooters

• Building a new versatile space for learning, events, and interactive activities, as well as a workshop for our maintenance and gardening team to store tools and equipment
