Daily boat trips

Our daily boat trips run daily, weather permitting between April to October, offering a peaceful way to explore Fairhaven and the wider Norfolk Broads from the water. Departing from our private broad, cruises travel along the River Bure, with views towards the picturesque ruins of St Benet’s Abbey.

Step aboard our traditional Edwardian-style river cruiser, Primrose, for a 20-minute or 50-minute sightseeing cruise. Sit back, enjoy the scenery and keep an eye out for kingfishers, herons, grebes and other wildlife along the way. Our experienced skippers provide a relaxed, informal commentary, sharing their knowledge of the Broad and pointing out wildlife, interesting features and hidden corners of this beautiful landscape.

For visitors with mobility requirements, our accessible pontoon boat, Primula, is available with a ramp when required. Primula operates at weekends by request from April to July and daily during school holidays.

Whether you're looking for a gentle cruise, a chance to spot wildlife or simply a different view of Fairhaven, our boat trips are a lovely way to spend time on the water.

Important Information Before Your Visit

Boat trips operate from within the gardens, so all passengers must have a valid garden admission ticket or membership before purchasing boat trip tickets. Please ensure you allow enough time to arrive, check in and make your way to the departure point. We recommend arriving at the ticket office at least 30 minutes before your scheduled boat trip.

Temporary Boarding Arrangements

During the 2026 season, our usual quay heading will be temporarily closed while improvement works are carried out. During this time, all boat trips will depart from our viewing platform.

The temporary boarding platform can only be reached on foot via the boardwalks and includes steps. The walk from the ticket office takes approximately 30 minutes, so please allow plenty of time before your scheduled departure. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the route, mobility scooters and wheelchairs cannot access the temporary boarding platform. We appreciate that these arrangements may make our boat trips unsuitable for some visitors with limited mobility, and we sincerely apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions about accessibility or would like to discuss whether the route is suitable for you, please contact our office before your visit on 01603 270449.

Our team will be happy to advise you and help you plan your visit.
